Cut and mulch + Cut-stump treatment + Return visit quoted separately
What's includedINVASIVE BRUSH IN RUTHERFORD COUNTY
Chinese privet can turn a hedge or woodland edge into a dense thicket. NC State Extension describes it as an aggressive shrub capable of overtaking native plants. If you are unsure what is growing, send close-up leaf and stem photos alongside a wider view, or read how to identify invasive brush.
The first-visit scope is cutting and mulching top growth with cut-stump treatment; stump extraction is not included in that scope. Roots and seeds can produce new growth, so one visit is not an eradication promise. Our removal process explains the work, and maintenance covers separately quoted follow-ups.
Rutherfordton is home base for Brush Masters, with the service area extending across the rest of the county and into Polk, Cleveland, McDowell and Henderson counties plus the Spartanburg side of the state line. Every brush job gets priced as one fixed written number for the first visit. A return visit is recommended and quoted separately as a maintenance plan.
Sources: NC State Extension Plant Toolbox: Ligustrum sinense (Chinese privet); NC State Extension Plant Toolbox: Lonicera maackii (Amur bush honeysuckle); NC State Extension Plant Toolbox: Rosa multiflora (multiflora rose); NC State Extension Plant Toolbox: Elaeagnus umbellata (autumn olive). These sources describe the plant and the region; they do not scope or price an individual property.
Looking for broader property clearing rather than an invasive thicket? See land clearing and forestry mulching from Brush Masters.
Acreage, how dense the thicket is, how many of the four species are mixed together, access for the machine and what the ground is going to be used for afterward. A quarter-acre fence line thick with privet and a five-acre pasture edge grown up in multiflora rose are different jobs with different numbers, but both come as a fixed written price before we start.

THE THICKET
Forestry mulching takes the privet, honeysuckle, rose or olive thicket down to a mulch layer in one pass. Nothing is hauled, nothing is burned.
THE STUMPS
Privet and honeysuckle resprout hard from a cut stump. Cut-stump treatment targets that regrowth, but results vary and further visits may be needed.
THE MAINTENANCE PLAN
We recommend coming back during the growing season to catch whatever resprouts. That return visit is quoted separately as a maintenance plan, and you see the price before anything is scheduled.

THE FROM $1,500 PRICE
Land clearing from $1,500. Sounds crazy? It's not. It depends on acreage and location.
The $1,500 starting price covers the first visit: cutting and mulching the growth and treating the stumps on a small, accessible patch of invasive brush. Bigger ground, denser thickets, tight access and mixed stands of privet, honeysuckle, rose and olive move the number up, and you see that number in writing before we schedule anything.
Our promise: a fixed written price before we start. No day rates. Nonstandard access or extra follow-up work is quoted before anything is scheduled.
Privet and honeysuckle push hard out of a cut stump left in the ground, so a job that stops at mulching isn't a finished removal. That's why we recommend a return visit. Return visits for regrowth are quoted separately as a maintenance plan, and you see that price in writing before anything is scheduled.
HOW IT WORKS
Call, text or send the form with the property location and roughly how far the brush has spread. Photos help.
We look at access, slope and how dense the thicket is, then send a fixed written price. No day rates.
Top growth is mulched in place and stumps are treated on the first visit. We recommend coming back in the growing season to catch resprouts, quoted separately as a maintenance plan.

Don't see your town? Call anyway, we likely still cover it if you're within roughly an hour's drive of Rutherfordton.
Land clearing from $1,500. Sounds crazy? It's not. It depends on acreage and location. The $1,500 starting price covers the first visit: cutting and mulching the growth and treating the stumps on a small, accessible patch of privet, honeysuckle, multiflora rose or autumn olive. A thicker or wider stand pushes the total higher, but whatever it lands on gets handed to you in writing before the crew starts. A return visit is recommended and quoted separately as a maintenance plan. The full breakdown is on what moves the price.
Expect at least some of it to try. Privet throws up suckers from its base and a cut honeysuckle stump pushes back hard, so a mulching-only visit is closer to a haircut than an actual removal. That is why we treat the stumps on the first visit and recommend a growing-season return visit; that visit is quoted separately as a maintenance plan, not part of the $1,500 starting price. The maintenance plan walks through how that plays out across year one and year two.
Cut-stump treatment is part of the first visit on every invasive brush job, and before you agree to anything we lay out precisely what we intend to do on your ground. The mulching pass handles what's above the soil; treatment goes onto the cut stump to target regrowth, not to guarantee eradication. Site conditions and treatment restrictions need discussion before work. We recommend a separately quoted return visit to catch what resprouts. Bring it up on the call and we'll go through the details with you directly.
The crew mulches on a year-round schedule. Working the ground while it's dormant makes stumps easier to see and cut clean, while treatment applied once growth resumes is when it does the most good. A first visit typically lines up with whenever you reach out, and the return trip gets scheduled for the following growing season.
A single quarter-acre fence line buried in privet is usually wrapped up in a day. A few acres of old, established multiflora rose and autumn olive along a pasture edge might run two or three days instead. Whatever the estimate turns out to be, it's spelled out in the written price, and we keep you updated with photos from the site so you don't need to stand there watching.
Requirements depend on the parcel and proposed work. Streams, shorelines, steep terrain and other protected areas can change what is allowed. Confirm applicable rules and permissions with the relevant authority before scheduling; a written quote is not permit approval. Flag these constraints when you send property details.
