THE THICKET
Understory mulching
Forestry mulching takes the privet, honeysuckle, rose or olive thicket down to a mulch layer in one pass. Nothing is hauled, nothing is burned.
FOREST CITY, RUTHERFORD COUNTY
Forest City brush tends to follow water: a creek bottom behind a subdivision thick with honeysuckle and autumn olive, a drainage ditch along the old rail corridor grown up in privet, a low spot nobody mows. We mulch it in place, treat the stumps, and come back, at a fixed written price, four miles from our Rutherfordton shop.

What's includedINVASIVE BRUSH IN FOREST CITY
Water is usually the common thread in a Forest City call, since the town sits along Second Broad River drainage and a lot of the growth we clear traces back to a creek bottom or a damp low strip behind a house or business. Autumn olive and bush honeysuckle both find that setting nearly ideal: open sun where the canopy breaks along the water, loose soil to root into, and enough distance from the house that a young stand can thicken for a season or two before anyone notices.
The RHI Legacy Foundation funded construction of the Thermal Belt Rail Trail, a 12-foot-wide, 13.36-mile paved corridor built along one of the area's retired rail lines, running through the same kind of once-cleared, creek-adjacent ground where privet and honeysuckle move in the moment regular mowing stops. The trail property itself is off-limits to us, but the lesson carries over to the private lots that border corridors like it: anywhere a fence line or an old rail bed meets water tends to be exactly where these four species take hold, and that combination accounts for most of what we see on the Forest City side of the county.
Wet, dense growth in a creek bottom is a different challenge than a dry hillside, not necessarily a lighter one, since standing water and soft ground both slow how the mulcher can maneuver. What doesn't change is the offer: a Forest City quote, four miles out from the Rutherfordton shop, still comes back as a fixed written first-visit number with stump treatment included, and anything near a stream gets flagged up front rather than discovered mid-job. A return visit is recommended and quoted separately as a maintenance plan.

THE THICKET
Forestry mulching takes the privet, honeysuckle, rose or olive thicket down to a mulch layer in one pass. Nothing is hauled, nothing is burned.
THE STUMPS
Privet and honeysuckle resprout hard from a cut stump. We treat each one so the regrowth is a handful of shoots, not a new thicket.
THE MAINTENANCE PLAN
We recommend coming back during the growing season to catch whatever resprouts. That return visit is quoted separately as a maintenance plan, and you see the price before anything is scheduled.

THE FROM $1,500 PRICE
Land clearing from $1,500. Sounds crazy? It's not. It depends on acreage and location.
The $1,500 starting price covers the first visit: cutting and mulching the growth and treating the stumps on a small, accessible patch of invasive brush. Bigger ground, denser thickets, tight access and mixed stands of privet, honeysuckle, rose and olive move the number up, and you see that number in writing before we schedule anything.
Our promise: a fixed written price before we start. No day rates. Nonstandard access or extra follow-up work is quoted before anything is scheduled.
Privet and honeysuckle push hard out of a cut stump left in the ground, so a job that stops at mulching isn't a finished removal. That's why we recommend a return visit. Return visits for regrowth are quoted separately as a maintenance plan, and you see that price in writing before anything is scheduled.
HOW IT WORKS
Call, text or send the form with the property location and roughly how far the brush has spread. Photos help.
We look at access, slope and how dense the thicket is, then send a fixed written price. No day rates.
Top growth is mulched in place and stumps are treated on the first visit. We recommend coming back in the growing season to catch resprouts, quoted separately as a maintenance plan.

Don't see your town? Call anyway, we likely still cover it if you're within roughly an hour's drive of Rutherfordton.
It can be. Anything close to a stream, ditch or drainage may fall under rules that don't apply to a dry field, so we look into what's relevant to your exact spot before quoting rather than assuming. When a permit step is genuinely needed, we build it into the job instead of springing it on you once we're already on the calendar.
A creek bottom is close to the best growing conditions this plant gets: damp soil, open light where the canopy thins out, and plenty of room to root as it spreads down the bank. Cutting it once won't outpace that. What actually slows a creek-bottom stand down over time is treating the cut stumps on the first visit and following through with a recommended, separately quoted return visit.
