THE THICKET
Understory mulching
Forestry mulching takes the privet, honeysuckle, rose or olive thicket down to a mulch layer in one pass. Nothing is hauled, nothing is burned.
CHIMNEY ROCK, RUTHERFORD COUNTY
A Chimney Rock property usually sits somewhere on the wall of Hickory Nut Gorge, above or below US-64/74A, with honeysuckle and privet thickening downhill from the road cut toward the river. We mulch what a person can't safely reach on foot, treat the stumps, and come back, twelve miles from our Rutherfordton shop.

What's includedINVASIVE BRUSH IN CHIMNEY ROCK
The village of Chimney Rock is built into one of the sharpest grades anywhere in Hickory Nut Gorge, a few minutes below Chimney Rock State Park, so grade is simply part of the deal on nearly every property here. When honeysuckle or privet gets a start on a road cut or an old cleared field above town, it moves downhill without much resistance, filling in the hardwood understory as it goes, and by the time it draws a phone call it has usually already covered ground too steep to walk and check.
Chimney Rock State Park looks out over the same gorge these properties occupy, and the same dramatic terrain that makes the park worth visiting is what makes clearing brush here a different job than flat ground in Forest City or Ellenboro. This is where the remote-controlled mulcher earns its keep, taking on grades that neither a standard tracked machine nor a hand crew could safely manage, so growth comes off the slope and gets mulched on the spot instead of hauled down to the road.
A Chimney Rock estimate, twelve miles out, breaks the slope work into its own line rather than folding it into a flat per-acre rate, since a grade like this genuinely slows production. The number still lands as a fixed written first-visit price before anything is scheduled, and cut-stump treatment is part of every quote here the same as anywhere else we work, gorge wall or not. A growing-season return visit is recommended and quoted separately as a maintenance plan.

THE THICKET
Forestry mulching takes the privet, honeysuckle, rose or olive thicket down to a mulch layer in one pass. Nothing is hauled, nothing is burned.
THE STUMPS
Privet and honeysuckle resprout hard from a cut stump. We treat each one so the regrowth is a handful of shoots, not a new thicket.
THE MAINTENANCE PLAN
We recommend coming back during the growing season to catch whatever resprouts. That return visit is quoted separately as a maintenance plan, and you see the price before anything is scheduled.

THE FROM $1,500 PRICE
Land clearing from $1,500. Sounds crazy? It's not. It depends on acreage and location.
The $1,500 starting price covers the first visit: cutting and mulching the growth and treating the stumps on a small, accessible patch of invasive brush. Bigger ground, denser thickets, tight access and mixed stands of privet, honeysuckle, rose and olive move the number up, and you see that number in writing before we schedule anything.
Our promise: a fixed written price before we start. No day rates. Nonstandard access or extra follow-up work is quoted before anything is scheduled.
Privet and honeysuckle push hard out of a cut stump left in the ground, so a job that stops at mulching isn't a finished removal. That's why we recommend a return visit. Return visits for regrowth are quoted separately as a maintenance plan, and you see that price in writing before anything is scheduled.
HOW IT WORKS
Call, text or send the form with the property location and roughly how far the brush has spread. Photos help.
We look at access, slope and how dense the thicket is, then send a fixed written price. No day rates.
Top growth is mulched in place and stumps are treated on the first visit. We recommend coming back in the growing season to catch resprouts, quoted separately as a maintenance plan.
CLOSE TO HOME
Rutherfordton is the home base, with the crew regularly out across Rutherford, Polk, Cleveland, McDowell and Henderson counties, plus the Spartanburg side of the state line.
Don't see your town? Call anyway, we likely still cover it if you're within roughly an hour's drive of Rutherfordton.
In most cases, yes. The remote-controlled mulcher was built for exactly this kind of grade, which covers the majority of what we see around the gorge. A small number of lots are steep or hemmed in enough that even that machine can't work every corner, and if your property falls into that group, we'll say so plainly at the walk-through instead of pricing something we can't follow through on.
The address isn't what drives the number; the slope is. Gorge-wall ground almost always calls for the remote-controlled mulcher and a slower pace than flat ground requires, and that's what shows up in the total. We price the actual grade and access on your lot rather than charging a location premium, and it's itemized as its own line in the quote.
